According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), throughout the outlook period, intermittent convergent bands of low-level moisture coming over the Tropical Atlantic, will move across the Lesser Antilles, at times interrupting the sunny conditions, with some showers in varying areas. A mid-level trough, in position over the Windwards, together with some upper-level assistance, is likely to be a factor in the enhancement of any localized convection, if it does occur, on Friday (1st December 2023) or Saturday. A weak perturbation, together with minimal surface convergence across Trinidad and Tobago, on Sunday (3rd December 2023) into Monday, raises the probability for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm, especially near hilly areas and Eastern to Southeastern offshore areas of Trinidad.
Varying intensities in the concentration of Saharan dust, between mild to moderate, are expected in the atmosphere over the outlook period. In the event of a heavy shower or a thunderstorm, winds can become gusty and street or flash flooding is likely in the vicinity. The Met Office has provided the following 5-day weather outlook for T&T: Thursday (30th November 2023)
Friday (1st December 2023)
Saturday (2nd December 2023)
Sunday (3rd December 2023)
Monday (4th December 2023)
The Met Office notes that as an extended forecast goes further into the future, it is normal for the certainty to be reduced relative to the extended time period. Please continue to pay attention to the latest forecasts, alerts, and information issued by the TTMS.

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is advising citizens of planned maintenance work which will affect several areas of El Socorro, Barrackpore and Princes Town on Wednesday (29th November 2023). This may result in loss of electricity between the hours of works.
According to T&TEC, the affected areas in El Socorro, Barrackpore and Princes Town are as follows: EL SOCORRO (8:30 AM to 4:00 PM)
EL SOCORRO (8:00 AM to 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM)
EL SOCORRO (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM)
BARRACKPORE (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM)
PRINCES TOWN (1:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
T&TEC says it regrets the inconvenience which may be caused by these interruptions. “The citizens of Trinidad and Tobago are unequivocally correct in requesting co-operation from their elected representatives to stem the violent crime crisis. Therefore, I reaffirm my commitment to leading a team on behalf of the UNC to attend the anti-crime talks to explain our multidisciplinary approach to the Government on combatting the violent crime crisis.” This from Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, MP.
In a Media Release on Monday (27th November 2023), Mrs. Persad-Bissessar said on 20th November 2023, at a Press Conference, [Prime Minister] Keith Rowley “falsely stated that the UNC put forward a ‘deal breaker’ that there would be no anti-crime talks if former Police Commissioner Gary Griffith were not present. I wish to correct this untruth and remind the country that I had indicated for an invitation to be extended to all willing stakeholders to participate in the anti-crime talks. Over a month ago, on 14th October 2023, I wrote to the Prime Minister to clarify several key points concerning the proposed bipartisan crime talks. To date, there has been no response.” The Opposition Leader continued, “Many citizens have called for the Government and Opposition to work together to start these anti-crime talks. I absolutely agree with their calls, as this is a time for humility and co-operation and not arrogance. One thing we must have in common is our love for the people and our country. Mr. Griffith has no criminal charges against him and is exceptionally qualified to contribute to these talks. However, it is clear that the presence of Mr. Griffth causes anguish to the Prime Minister and is the reason for his refusal to attend. Therefore, after consultation with Mr. Griffith, he has selflessly put his inclusion on the Opposition team on hold as he did not want to be scapegoated as a reason for these talks to be scuttled.” She added, “Hopefully, Mr. Griffith's non-attendance will assuage the fears and insecurities of the Prime Minister, who will now reconsider his refusal to attend the proposed crime talks. As leaders, we owe it to the people, our supporters who elected us into office, to take Trinidad and Tobago forward safely. I urge the Prime Minister to:
The Media Release concluded by saying, “As leaders, we cannot take intractable stances on these talks while violent criminals terrorize our beloved citizens. I reiterate that the UNC is willing, ready, and able to work with the Government to combat the violent crime crisis destroying the lives of citizens.” Twenty-two (22) Venezuelans were detained by Officers of the Cedros and Erin Police Station for illegal entry into Trinidad.
