Delta Air Lines Plane With 80 Onboard Crashes At Toronto Pearson International Airport In Canada17/2/2025
UPDATE: The number of injured people hospitalized are now confirmed to be eighteen (18). Among the eighty (80) people onboard the aircraft were seventy-six (76) passengers and four (4) crew members, including twenty-two (22) Canadians.
At least nine (9) people are injured following a Delta Air Lines plane crash a short while ago this afternoon (Monday 17th February, 2025) at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada. The CRJ-900 plane, which eventually settled upside down on the tarmac, was carrying a total of eighty (80) people.
The Airport confirmed the crash, saying it was aware of “an incident upon landing,” involving the Delta jet, which was arriving from Minneapolis in the United States. In a social media post shortly before 3:00 PM, the Airport said emergency personnel responded to the scene and all passengers and crew members have been accounted for. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in a statement that Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, which was operated by Endeavor Air, crashed while landing in Toronto at around 2:30 PM. While the FAA did not specify how many crew members and how many passengers were onboard, it did confirm a total of eighty (80) people were on the plane. One of the injured people was in critical condition and was airlifted to a nearby Trauma Center, according to Lawrence Saindon, a Superintendent for Peel Regional Paramedic Services. Another among the injured, a child, was taken via Ambulance to a Hospital in downtown Toronto, Saindon said. The extent of the other injuries remain unclear at this time, but there were not believed to be any fatalities, according to the Association of Flight Attendants union, which posted on social media that it was responding to the event. All arrivals into and departures out of Toronto Pearson have been canceled, according to local outlet CTV News, citing staff at the Airport. The outlet added that the Airport has not yet confirmed these cancelations. Video posted on social media by Someone on the flight posted video on social media shortly after the crash, showing the Delta plane overturned on the runway and steaming, as passengers appear to evacuate. “We just landed. Our plane crashed. It's upside down,” the person who took the video said. He noted in the video that “most people appear to be OK” and that passengers were getting off of the plane.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will investigate the incident, according to the FAA.

UPDATE 2: The 16-year-old unlicensed driver failed to stop during a Police roadblock out of fear of getting in trouble with his mother — whose car he took without her consent. He is now facing possible criminal charges. One of the survivors alleges that as the driver sped off from the roadblock, King and the other occupants started screaming and begging him to stop. He said King told the driver to do the right thing, but he instead accelerated down the Beaumont Hill until he ran off the road, lost control, started to spin on the road and finally crashed into the light pole.
UPDATE: There were a total of five (5) occupants in the Tiida. The two (2) other persons were the 16-year-old driver and a 14-year-old passenger — both escaped with minor injuries. Police said the driver and the front-seat passenger became disoriented as a result of the crash and wandered away to a nearby area, but were found some time later.
Two (2) teenagers are dead and a third seriously injured in a car crash after the driver managed to evade a Police roadblock in Pointe-a-Pierre last night (Monday 10th February, 2025). The deceased have been identified as 16-year-old Kelita Jamal King of Riverside Road, Battoo Boulevard, Marabella, and 19-year-old Trey Collymore of Harmony Hall, Marabella.
The third passenger, identified as 16-year-old Joel Yarde of Second Street, Battoo Avenue, Marabella, is currently warded at the San Fernando General Hospital and is said to be in a stable condition. According to reports, Officers from the Marabella Police Station were conducting a roadblock exercise on the Southern Main Road, Pointe-a-Pierre, near Tropical Plaza, around 9:40 PM, when they observed a red Nissan Tiida driving at a fast rate of speed along the road. The Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop and drove off at the same speed. Officers proceeded to chase after the Tiida, whose driver reportedly lost control near Flower Pot Beach, Pointe-a-Pierre, and veered off the road, hitting a light pole. The impact badly damaged the front and rear of the car. Police found three (3) male passengers of African descent pinned in the back seat. The driver reportedly fled the scene. The Mon Repos Fire Services, led by FSSO Solomon, were called for assistance and were able to utilize the ‘Jaws of Life’ to remove the passengers from the mangled wreck.
Emergency medical personnel at the scene examined King but found no vital signs. Yarde and Collymore were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital. However, Collymore died of his injuries while being treated.

The wreckage of a missing Bering Air plane was found crashed on sea ice earlier today (Friday 7th February, 2025), Southeast of Nome, Alaska. The Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft was carrying ten (10) adults — nine (9) passengers and one (1) pilot — when it vanished on Thursday afternoon (6th February, 2025), according to the Alaska Department of Public Safety.
The United States Coast Guard said it recovered three (3) bodies so far from inside the aircraft — the remaining seven (7) are currently inaccessible due to the mangled state of the plane.
The regularly scheduled flight, operated by Bering Air, was traveling from Unalakleet to Nome in Western Alaska, when its position was lost about twelve (12) miles offshore, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. Data from FlightRadar shows the plane last reporting info at 3:16 PM over the Norton Sound. The Coast Guard added that its last known position was transponded Thursday evening, approximately thirty (30) miles Southeast of Nome.
During a Press Conference on Friday, the Coast Guard said that data showed a “rapid loss in elevation and rapid loss in speed” for the aircraft at 3:18 PM local time on Thursday. The Coast Guard also said at the time that an “item of interest” had been found, and an aircraft was flying over it to determine what it was.
The FBI said on Friday that the plane did not communicate by Emergency Locator Transmitter. On Thursday night, it wrote on Facebook that “the pilot of the plane told Anchorage Air Traffic Control that he intended to enter a holding pattern while waiting for the runway to be cleared” in Nome.
The missing plane comes after back-to-back fatal aviation incidents in the U.S. last week, including the collision between a military helicopter and a passenger jet near the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and a Learjet 55 medevac jet that crashed in Philadelphia. Investigations are continuing. More on this as it becomes available. [Source: Fox News] A Japan Airlines jet came into contact with a Delta Air Lines plane, slicing into its tail, at the Seattle Airport this morning (Wednesday 5th February, 2025). The taxiing Japan Airlines plane struck the tail of a parked Delta plane at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at 10:17 AM local time. Both aircrafts were filled with passengers at the time of the harrowing incident. The Seattle Airport said the ordeal occurred on a taxi line between S Concourse and the south airport maintenance hangars. No injuries were reported and there was minimal impact to operations at the busy Airport. Images online showed the Japan Airlines wing had cut through the Delta tail. “So, we were sitting on the tarmac at SeaTac and another plane ran into us, just casually sliced into our tail. Very scary,” one witness said on X. There were 142 customers on the Delta flight from Seattle to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The company said they are working to get passengers on a new aircraft. Speaking with DailyMail.com, a Delta Spokesperson said, “While in sequence for de-icing, the tail of a Delta 737 aircraft reportedly made contact with a wing tip of another airline's aircraft. There are no reports of injuries for crew or customers on the flight, and we apologize for the experience and delay in travels.” Seattle Airport confirmed the collision, saying that both airlines were working on getting passengers and crew safety off the affected crafts. According to their statement, “At approximately 10:17 AM this morning, Port of Seattle Fire, Police and SEA operations responded to an incident on the ramp at SEA on a taxi line between S Concourse and the South Airport maintenance hangars. The incident involved a taxing Japan Airlines aircraft that appears to have struck the tail of a parked Delta Air Lines aircraft. There are no injuries reported at this time. SEA is working with both airlines to safely deplane passengers and bring them to the terminal. There is minimal impact to Airport operations as this occurred on a taxi lane. Passengers are encouraged to check with their airlines if they are flying today.” The collision comes as the United States is reeling from a week of devastating aviation crashes.
An American Airlines jet collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter on 29th January, 2025, killing all sixty-seven (67) people involved — marking the deadliest air disaster in the country since 2001. Salvage crews have since recovered all the bodies from the icy waters of the Potomac River. Then on Friday (31st January, 2025), a medical transport jet with a child patient, her mother and four (4) others aboard, crashed into a Philadelphia neighborhood shortly after takeoff, exploding in a giant fireball that engulfed several homes. All six (6) people onboard and a seventh person inside a vehicle on the ground died in that crash. Twenty-four (24) people were also injured, some in critical condition. Investigations are continuing. More on this as it becomes available. [Source: DailyMail]

Authorities also said twenty-two (22) persons on the ground were injured during the crash — five (5) remain hospitalized, three (3) of which are in critical condition.
According to reports, a plane has crashed on a street near Roosevelt Mall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a short while ago this evening (Friday 31st January, 2025), engulfing nearby cars and homes in flames. Six (6) people are reported to have been killed, with multiple other injuries on the ground. This comes just days after an American Airlines passenger plane collided midair with an Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC, killing sixty-seven (67) people.
The crash this evening in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, occurred around 6:30 PM, after a Learjet 55, operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, carrying six (6) onboard -- a pilot, copilot, physician, paramedic, pediatric patient and her mother — took off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, headed to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri. All onboard are said to be Mexican nationals. The pediatric patient was in the U.S. for life-saving medical treatment. At the end of treatment, she was released to go home. Social media videos show the plane loudly crashing in the distance, with a burst of light covering the area.
Crews are said to be currently battling multiple house fires resulting from the crash near the 2900 block of Cottman Avenue.

[Source: Fox News] A total of sixty-seven (67) people are feared dead after an American Airlines plane carrying sixty (60) passengers and four (4) crew members collided in midair with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter carrying three (3) people. The horrific crash occurred near Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, DC, shortly before 9:00 PM EST last night (Wednesday 29th January, 2025). The two (2) aircraft crashed into the Potomac River, where a rescue operation has turned into a major recovery effort, with dozens of bodies pulled from the water so far. American Airlines Flight 5342 was arriving from Wichita, Kansas, parent company American Airlines said. Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser confirmed the U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter involved was carrying three (3) people. American figure skaters, coaches and family members who had been at camp in Wichita were among the passenger jet passengers, according to U.S. Figure Skating. Russian State media confirmed that Russian figure skaters and coaches were also onboard. The deadly midair collision on Wednesday night appears to have been caught on camera. Footage shows a bright, fiery explosion as the two (2) objects collide. The chopper had been engaged in a "training mission" at the time of the collision, Ron McLendon II, Deputy Director, JTF-NCR/USAMDW Public Affairs noted. “While performing a training mission, a United States Army UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter from Bravo Company, 12th Aviation Battalion, Davison Army Airfield, Fort Belvoir, Va., collided in midair with an American Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet, Flight 5342, last night at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport,” McLendon noted. “The FAA, NTSB and the United States Army will investigate. The NTSB will lead the investigation. We are working with local officials and will provide any additional information once it becomes available.” Despite a mammoth search-and-rescue operation, Fire and EMS Chief John A. Donnelly said during a Press Conference early this morning (Thursday 30th January, 2025) that there were not believed to be any survivors from the midair collision over the Potomac River. “We are now at a point where we are switching from a rescue operation to a recovery operation,” Donnelly said. “At this point, we don’t believe there are any survivors from this accident.” At least twenty-eight (28) bodies have been pulled from the water, he said. Of those, twenty-seven (27) were from the American Airlines civilian jet and one (1) from the U.S. Black Hawk helicopter, Donnelly said. Multiple medical examiner offices are working on identifying the victims, with the D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner leading the efforts to reunite the bodies with loved ones. “We will continue to work to find all the bodies and collect them and reunite them with their loved ones,” Donnelly said. U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the crash on Truth Social. “The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport. The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane. This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. NOT GOOD!!!" Trump declared in a post shared shortly after Midnight. “What a terrible night this has been. God bless you all!” he added in another post. Investigations are continuing.
