The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of North East Trinidad served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant that there will be an interruption in their water supply from 8am to 4pm on Sunday 1st March 2020.
This has become necessary due to a planned power outage by the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC), in order to carry out utility relocation works associated with the Valencia to Toco Roadway Project. See the list of affected areas below in the News Release from WASA, which also has additional information about the supply disruption. Following heavy backlash about her husband's behavior on Carnival Tuesday, Nicki Minaj is promising she will be "whining" on who she wants the next time she's here for Carnival and suggests her husband should wait on another truck. Nicki's husband, Kenneth Petty, was seen pushing away the hand of Iwer George when he got too close to Nicki while they were all on top of a truck on Carnival Tuesday. Iwer was apparently trying to get Nicki to move some more during his performance, but her husband was not having it and went into full "bodyguard" mode. Trinis have since created memes about the incident and have been roasting her husband on social media and threatening him about physically disrespecting Iwer George. Jump to 13:00 in the video below if you haven't yet seen the incident. For her part, Nicki has apologised on behalf of her husband, stating that he doesn't understand anything about Trini culture and he has never been to a Carnival before. She also admitted that she should of let him know what to expect beforehand. She also suggested that her husband is unfazed by the entire controversy. Below are just some of the many negative comments that were left on her recent Instagram posts during Carnival. There were so many on one particular post (a video of her telling Trini fans that she loves them), that Nicki ended up turning off the comments section.
The Central Bank of Trinidad & Tobago has released concept designs for the upcoming new series of polymer banknotes ($1, $5, $10, $20 and $50) which are consistent in design with the $100 polymer banknote introduced in December 2019.

The new polymer notes will co-circulate with the existing notes as legal tender at least until the end of 2021. The unscripted ‘Friends’ Reunion Special will feature all six (6) main stars - Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer - as well as series creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman. The Reunion Special, along with the entire ‘Friends’ library will be available to stream when HBO Max launches at a date to be determined in May.
All six (6) cast members revealed the official news on Friday 21st February 2020 by simultaneously posting the below photo on their respective Instagram accounts with the caption “It’s happening...”
According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the cast, who all negotiated together, will earn more than double their former per-episode fee for the reunion and be paid between $2.5 million and $3 million for the special. The cast famously renegotiated their salaries together during the show's original run to earn a then-historic $1 million per episode of the scripted comedy.
Netflix has previously been the home of the entire ‘Friends’ library for the past couple of years, where it has grown in popularity and found new audiences. However, it left the U.S streaming service at the end of 2019 and will now make its debut on the WarnerMedia-backed HBO Max when that U.S $15 monthly subscription platform launches in May.
Sources say WarnerMedia paid U.S $85 Million per year for five (5) years (U.S $425 Million) to reclaim the streaming rights of ‘Friends,’ ultimately outbidding Netflix, which previously paid between U.S $80 - $100 Million to keep ‘Friends’ on its service through 2019. The ‘Friends’ Reunion Special will be filmed on Stage 24 of the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California, where the entire series was filmed. Kevin Reilly, Chief Content Officer at HBO Max and President of TBS, TNT and truTV made the following comments about the official news: Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together — we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire Friends library.

After last winning Power Soca Monarch back in 2007 (when he promised the keys to his Lexus for anyone who defeated him), Neil “Iwer” George won the million-dollar first prize on Saturday morning (22nd February 2020) at the International Soca Monarch Finals. The competition took place at the Queen’s Park Savannah.
George, along with Kees Dieffenthaller joining him on stage, won with their collaboration “Stage Gone Bad.” Coming in second place was Devon “Lyrikal” Martin with his song “Rukshun.” Third place went to Olatunji Yearwood who sang “Thankful.”
After receiving his million-dollar cheque, George made the following comments:
Allyuh know, I have been waiting for a long time. In the history of soca and Soca Monarch, I am the only standing artiste that have been from the inception and still here. I have one of the wickedest reputations in Soca Monarch, I have the most seconds (placement) ever. What I got, I fight for it and I fight to the end it shows that Iwer is a real fighter.
George, as well as other artists, experienced technical difficulties during their performances. George in particular said his microphone was “low” but he did not allow it to hinder his performance. He is hopeful his song will win the Road March title when the winner is announced on Ash Wednesday.
