According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), throughout the outlook period, intermittent convergent bands of low-level moisture coming over the Tropical Atlantic, will move across the Lesser Antilles, at times interrupting the sunny conditions, with some showers in varying areas. A mid-level trough, in position over the Windwards, together with some upper-level assistance, is likely to be a factor in the enhancement of any localized convection, if it does occur, on Friday (1st December 2023) or Saturday. A weak perturbation, together with minimal surface convergence across Trinidad and Tobago, on Sunday (3rd December 2023) into Monday, raises the probability for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm, especially near hilly areas and Eastern to Southeastern offshore areas of Trinidad.
Varying intensities in the concentration of Saharan dust, between mild to moderate, are expected in the atmosphere over the outlook period. In the event of a heavy shower or a thunderstorm, winds can become gusty and street or flash flooding is likely in the vicinity. The Met Office has provided the following 5-day weather outlook for T&T: Thursday (30th November 2023)
Friday (1st December 2023)
Saturday (2nd December 2023)
Sunday (3rd December 2023)
Monday (4th December 2023)
The Met Office notes that as an extended forecast goes further into the future, it is normal for the certainty to be reduced relative to the extended time period.
