A man is dead and another wounded following a brutal shooting incident in La Horquetta last night (Sunday 26th November 2023). The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Brent Seunarinesingh of #625 Phase 7, La Horquetta, while the wounded man is 33-year-old Brandon Seunarinesingh of the same address. They are said to be brothers.
According to reports, both men were sitting in the gallery of their home around 11:30 PM, when two (2) men approached them and opened fire. The gunmen then escaped in a silver Nissan Tiida. Both men were seen lying on the road and were subsequently taken to the Arima Hospital by a neighbour. Brent was pronounced dead at 12:12 AM on Monday whilst undergoing surgery. Brandon was taken for emergency surgery and was later listed in a stable but critical condition. He was subsequently transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex for further medical attention. Brent was shot in the right hip/thigh and buttock cheek and Brandon was shot in the face. Crime scene investigators recovered eighteen (18) spent 5.56 shells and twenty-two (22) spent 9mm shells. Cpl. Edwards and WPC Williams of the Pinto Police Post are investigating the shooting.
