The body of a man was seen floating in the sea near the International Waterfront Complex on Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain, this morning (Monday 27th November 2023). The deceased has not yet been identified.
According to reports, the body was retrieved around 8:00 AM by Police Officers and Coast Guard Officers. After initial checks, Police said there were no signs of violence on the body.
The body is suspected to be that of a socially displaced man who frequently slept at the Waterfront.
The body was moved to the Forensic Science Centre in St. James, where an autopsy will be performed, pending identification. Investigations are continuing. More on this as it becomes available.
