In a News Release on Monday (15th November 2021), the Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of Central and South Trinidad, who have been affected by the recent planned shutdown at the Point Lisas Desalination Plant, that the facility has been placed back in operation.
The Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Desalcott) owned and operated Plant, returned to full production and delivery last evening (Sunday 14th November 2021). Customers are advised that it may take up to forty-eight (48) hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas in keeping with established water supply schedules. For further information or assistance, customers are encouraged to contact WASA's Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420 or 800-4426. The Authority thanks customers for their patience and understanding during the period of disruption in service, caused by maintenance works at the Desalination Plant. We are a small operation.
