Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, announced at a Media Conference today that he has signed an Order that will require Visas for all Venezuelans to enter Trinidad & Tobago from Monday 17th June 2019. Minister Young said the new Visa policy will allow for proper screening of those who try to gain access to T&T.
From Monday morning we will be implementing Visas for Venezuelans to come to Trinidad & Tobago.
Minister Young addressed the Media at the end of today's deadline for the registration of Venezuelans in T&T. Everyone in line for registration today were processed and therefore there would be no need to resort to opening the Registration Centers this weekend. According to initial estimates, just over 15,000 Venezuelans were registered during the last two (2) weeks.
Minister Young also announced a Multi-Force Agency, similar to I.C.E in the United States (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), will be created to handle deportations using “humane methods.” We are a small operation.
