UPDATE (23/09/19 - 5:40am): Flood waters along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in the vicinity of Grand Bazaar have subsided. Traffic is flowing steadily along both sides of the Highway and TTPS vehicles are on site. Citizens are reminded to exercise caution along the nation's roadways today as more rainfall is expected.
UPDATE: As of 8pm, the Grand Bazaar Interchange continues to be blocked by the TTPS. However, larger vehicles, such as trucks, are being allowed to move through.
At around 6:30pm on Sunday 22nd September 2019, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has blocked motorists from attempting to drive through flood waters on the Highways by Grand Bazaar. This flooding is the result of the passage of Tropical Storm Karen earlier today,
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) wishes to advise that traffic proceeding north along Uriah Butler Highway (in the vicinity of Grand Bazaar) is being re-routed west along Churchill Roosevelt Highway to Maritime Roundabout, then unto the Priority Bus Route (PBR).
