Trinidad and Tobago is currently experiencing significant concentrations of Saharan Dust and Vog (volcanic smoke) on Thursday morning (28th October 2021). This has reduced visibility across T&T to 3 Km at Piarco and 8 Km at Crown Point in Tobago.
The volcanic smoke is emanating from Cumbre Vieja, which is an active volcanic ridge on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands, Spain. Air quality across T&T is at moderate levels this morning.
Sensitive groups should reduce outdoor physical exertion and time spent outside, especially in areas with heavy traffic. Windows should be closed and you should stay indoors as much as possible.
