The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) just announced that Prime Minister Keith Rowley tested positive for COVID-19 this morning (Thursday 23rd February 2023) after experiencing “mild flu-like symptoms last night.”
This is the fourth time he has tested positive for COVID-19. The OPM notes that Prime Minister Rowley will remain in isolation in keeping with the current COVID-19 protocols. “He will continue working from his office at the Prime Minister's residence. He is scheduled to lead the weekly Cabinet meeting this morning and is expected to attend Parliament virtually tomorrow where he will answer Prime Minister's Questions.” P.M. Rowley was scheduled to host a Press Conference at 2:30 PM this afternoon. However, a Post-Cabinet Media Briefing will be held instead at 3:00 PM today. It is unclear whether the Prime Minister will appear virtually at this Media Briefing. He recently returned to the country after attending Guyana's International Energy Conference and Expo and the 44th Regular Meeting of the CARICOM Heads of Government in The Bahamas.
