Despite a bold front page headline on today’s Guardian newspaper (Wednesday 24th June 2020) stating “CARNIVAL 2021 IS ON,” the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts (MCDCA) has issued a statement denying that any such formal decision has been made. The Ministry notes in its statement “No final decision has been taken by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on the hosting of Carnival 2021.” See the Ministry’s full statement about Carnival 2021 below.
