According to the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT), Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport, conducted a visit today (Sunday 31st December 2023) to the hill-slide location along the North Coast Road, Maracas, near the first Lookout.
An initial assessment by the Ministry's Highways Division has determined that the area still poses a significant threat to the safety of the traveling public. In light of this, the Ministry notes that “motorists and residents are strongly advised to avoid the area, if possible, until a comprehensive evaluation is conducted by the Ministry.” Minister Sinanan emphasized that the Ministry has mobilized all necessary resources to restore connectivity for local traffic. The Ministry added, “In the interest of prioritizing citizen safety, individuals are urged to refrain from using the North Coast Road.” Please be guided accordingly. We are a small operation.
