Prestige Holdings Limited (PHL), the franchise owner of KFC, Pizza Hut, Subway, TGI Fridays and Starbucks, has announced that their outlets will not be accepting the old paper-based $100 bills after midnight on Monday 23rd December 2019.
This means from Christmas Eve day onwards, you will have to pay for your food and drinks using the new polymer-based $100 bills at all PHL outlets. There has been some controversy as to whether businesses should accept the old bills until the legal deadline - 31st December 2019. However, many businesses are opting to notify their customers that they will be setting a cut-off date for accepting old bills.
