The Ministry of Health held a virtual Press Conference at 11am this morning (Monday 26th April 2021) to update the public on the latest developments with COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago. Below are the key points discussed today, courtesy of TTT Live Online: - Geographic Information Systems Manager at the Epidemiology Division of the Ministry of Health, Roshan Seeramsingh, shared statistical data which showed that in recent weeks, areas ranging from Diego Marin to Arima on the East-West Corridor, have recorded the highest density of cases in the country. - Manager of the Expanded Programme on Immunization, Grace Sookchand, provided an update on the vaccination rollout in T&T. Nurse Sookchan indicated that to date, 38,638 persons have received the vaccine. - Technical Director of Epidemiology, Dr. Avery Hinds, announced that the first round of vaccinations is winding down and from 7th June 2021, persons will be able to receive their second dose. Dr. Hinds strongly encouraged people who received their first vaccine dose to complete their vaccination and receive the second dose when it becomes available.
