Two (2) men are in Police custody following a report of robbery with violence in the Couva district on Wednesday (28th February, 2024). An SUV allegedly used in the robbery was also seized.
According to reports, Officers of the Central Division, acting on a tip-off in connection with a report of a robbery with violence in the Couva district, went to Maraj Lane in Freeport and arrested two (2) suspects, ages twenty-six (26) and thirty-three (33), both of Freeport. The Officers were conducting anti-crime exercises in the Couva and Freeport Police districts between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Wednesday, when they received the tip-off. The Officers also seized a dark-coloured Kia Sportage SUV, which was allegedly used in the robbery. The SUV was taken to the Couva Police Station. Investigations are continuing.
