UPDATE: Autopsies conducted on the two (2) bodies found in a Cunupia river revealed one of the victims was first shot in the head before both men were decapitated and dismembered. The bodies of two (2) dismembered bodies were identified by family members on Wednesday (19th October 2022) at the Forensic Science Centre in St. James. There were identified as Makell Simon, 31, of Soldado Road, Lange Park, Chaguanas, and Josiah Charles, 27, of Circular Trace, Enterprise.
The remains of the two (2) men were discovered around 1:00 PM on Monday (17th October 2022) along a riverbank, off Mon Plaisir Road in Cunupia. A man told investigators he was picking flowers for a Divali Puja and observed a foot sticking out of a mattress. Police were notified and the dismembered bodies of two (2) men were found stuffed in garbage bags. One of the victims was said to have a tattoo on his chest, while there were no visible markings or tattoos on the second victim. Police returned to the area on Tuesday and allegedly found a right arm tied with telephone wire and a bag with parts of a torso and clothing further upstream near the scene of Monday’s gruesome discovery. Investigators believe the bodies were chopped up using a power tool. Officers believe several bags with the chopped up bodies were dumped into the river and some of the body parts were pulled upstream by the currents. Both Charles and Simon were reported missing over the weekend. They told relatives they were going to lime and were not seen since. [Source: Loop] We are a small operation.
