Bob McGrath, one of the original human characters on the long-running educational television series, ‘Sesame Street,' passed away today (Sunday 4th December 2022) at the age of ninety (90), according to his family. McGrath’s family said in a statement on his official Facebook Page on Sunday, “Our father Bob McGrath, passed away today. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.” McGrath will best be remembered as a recurring cast member of the beloved children's series, having made his first appearance when the show debuted in 1969. He went on to work on ‘Sesame Street’ for an additional forty-seven (47) seasons. He last appeared on the show in 2017, in an episode titled 'Having a Ball.' His contributions to ‘Sesame Street’ was immense. He not only provided educational lessons for children through his interactions with the puppets, but he also brought a musical element to the show. He wrote several original songs for the production, including beloved classics, ’People in Your Neighborhood,’ ’Sing a Song,’ ’If You're Happy And You Know It’ and even the actual ‘Sesame Street’ theme song.
McGrath married his wife, Ann Logan Sperry, in 1958. He is survived by his wife and their three (3) kids, plus five (5) grandchildren. RIP Bob. [Source: TMZ] We are a small operation.
