The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) is advising citizens to “get ready and stay ready” in light of the Adverse Weather Alert issued by the MET Office early this morning, Tuesday 21st August 2018.
The Adverse Weather Alert is in effect from 5:37am until 2pm today (possibly longer) and we can expect Showers, at times heavy, in broad areas across Trinidad. Read the ODPM’s Public Advisory below for further information, which also includes steps you can take to be prepared for the adverse weather.
These scenes were recorded on Friday 17th August 2018 in and around the Queen’s Park Savannah shortly before the arrival of heavy rains associated with a strong Tropical Wave.

The Trinidad & Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) has issued a Media Release today, Friday 17th August 2018, warning citizens of the dangers they can face with electricity during floods.

In light of recent heavy rains and subsequent flooding, and the expected reoccurrence during the rest of the Rainy Season, the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is reminding persons to take the necessary safety precautions to protect their lives and properties.
The MET Office has adjusted its “Adverse Weather Alert” to begin from 2pm today, Friday 17th August 2018 (instead of Noon), until 4pm tomorrow.
While partly to mostly cloudy conditions are currently occurring across parts of T&T, Showers and Thunderstorms remain in the forecast for this evening, through overnight hours and into Saturday. The Ministry of Works & Transport (MOWT) recently launched the “Online Driver’s Permit Verification System,” which is geared towards modernizing the Licensing System while improving its service delivery to customers.

The MET Office is advising that another “Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level)” will be in effect from Noon on Friday 17th August 2018 until 4pm on Saturday 18th - and possibly longer.

According to TMZ, Aretha Franklin, known for having one of the greatest voices in Music History, and for Hits like "Respect," and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" died early Thursday morning after a long battle with Cancer.
Sources close to the Singer told TMZ that Aretha passed away in her Detroit Home where she was under Hospice care. She has been in failing health for many months and she was down to 86 Pounds. One source said he was informed more than a week ago that Aretha could go at any time. She was surrounded by friends and family when she passed. Listen to her 1967 Song “Respect” below.
Aretha won eighteen (18) Grammys and was the first woman ever inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.

Update (16/08/18): Residents reported to Police that the white Hyundai Tucson and the men seen in this video were also allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a man from the community the night before this incident. The man has not been seen since.
A white SUV used an audio recording of a Police Siren to pull over a car in Diego Martin shortly after 9am on Wednesday 15th August 2018.
Armed men with Bulletproof Vests came out of the SUV, killed the Driver and dragged the other man from the Passenger Seat onto the road. He was then beaten and shot. As the men were making their escape in the SUV, they rolled over the man’s lifeless body on the road. See the video below as well as a photo of the victims. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

This robbery took place earlier today, Tuesday 14th August 2018, at a Jewelry Store in Penal. Three (3) Armed Bandits exited a white Wagon (PDL 7889) and proceeded to rob the Jewelry Store, shooting the Jeweler in the process.
