Paria Fuel Trading Company Limited (Paria) announced this afternoon (Monday 9th December 2019) that they have signed a Settlement Agreement that would allow Paria to immediately resume the supply of fuel to Unipet.
The impasse started last week which resulted in Paria cutting off its supply of fuel to all Unipet Gas Stations. Long lines started forming soon afterwards at NP Gas Stations nationwide as motorists could no longer receive fuel at Unipet. This inconvenient situation continued since then with frustrated motorists losing valuable time. During a recent meeting with representatives from both companies, Unipet agreed to pay all outstanding debts and to withdraw its High Court action against Paria. Both parties will continue to work together with the goal of ensuring a new Supply Agreement is in place from 1st January 2020. Supply of fuel to Unipet resumed at 5pm today.
