A man is believed to have drowned at Tyrico Bay yesterday afternoon (Monday 26th February, 2024). The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Gordon Frimpong. According to reports, Frimpong, who went to the beach with a group of friends, was in the waters around 1:30 PM, when he disappeared. Eyewitnesses notified the lifeguards on duty and Frimpong was subsequently found and removed from the sea. He was brought to the shore where attempts were made to resuscitate him. However, he died before Emergency Health Services arrived. Officers of the North-Eastern Division responded to the scene and are continuing investigations into the incident.
