A 20-year-old woman has appeared before a Chaguanas Magistrate, charged with the murder of 66-year-old Ghandi Ramlochan of Queens, New York.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Bridget Ramsumir, of Endeavour Road, Chaguanas, was charged with the offence when she appeared before Magistrate Duane Murray, in the Chaguanas First Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 30th August 2023). The matter was adjourned to 27th September 2023. Ghandi arrived in Trinidad on 1st July 2023 and was last seen alive by his relatives on 2nd July 2023 in the company of a woman. A missing person’s report was made the next day when he did not return home and calls to his cellular phone went unanswered. The victim’s remains were found inside a burnt car on Monday 3rd July 2023. A female suspect was arrested in connection with the matter on Tuesday 22nd August 2023. Investigations were spearheaded by Supt. Dhillpaul, and supervised by ASP Persad and led by Sgt. Bridgemohan, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region III. Ramsumir was charged by WPC George, also of HBI Region III, on Monday (28th August 2023), following advice received from Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Mrs. Jaglal, on that same date.
