A 10-year-old girl was knocked down by a vehicle while attempting to cross the Toco Main Road earlier this week. The child suffered a broken leg, amongst other injuries, and was rushed to Hospital.
According to reports, the 10-year-old girl was attempting to cross the Toco Main Road, near her home, from behind a maxi around 3:30 PM on Monday afternoon (26th December 2022). While walking onto the roadway, however, she was struck by a silver Nissan AD wagon, which was being driven by a 30-year-old man. The Police and Paramedics were notified and the girl was immediately taken to the Sangre Grande Hospital. She reportedly suffered several injuries, including a broken leg. The driver of the vehicle was cautioned and administered a breathalyzer test, which returned a naught reading. He was later warned that he may face prosecution, pending the outcome of investigations.
