This disruption is expected to commence from today (Monday 8th January, 2024) and be completed on Friday (12th January, 2024). This has become necessary to facilitate road rehabilitation works.

Construction of Additional Lane, Northbound And Southbound Along Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway7/1/2024 The Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) is advising motorists that works have begun on the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway (SSHH).
In an update this afternoon (Sunday 7th January, 2024), the Ministry said this project involves the construction of an additional lane, Northbound and Southbound along SSHH, between Brentwood Mall and Chase Village Interchange, road rehabilitation, reconfiguration of traffic lanes, and other ancillary works. The Ministry added, “The primary objective of the project is to directly address the challenges associated with traffic congestion in the area. Traffic Disruption From Today Along Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway — Chaguanas To Chase Village2/1/2024 UPDATE: The Ministry said in a Public Notice that these works will now commence from Wednesday (3rd January, 2024). The Ministry of Works and Transport is advising the public that there will be a temporary traffic disruption along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, from Bhagwansingh's Hardware, Chaguanas to the Chase Village Flyover. These works will commence from today (Tuesday 2nd January, 2024) and is expected to be completed on 24th August, 2024. This has become necessary to facilitate slope stabilization and road rehabilitation works. The scope of works include excavation and installation of granular layers (day works) and milling and paving of the roadway (night works), with minimum disruption to traffic.

Alert: Traffic Disruption Along Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway (Southbound) Until 30th December5/12/2023 The Ministry of Works and Transport is advising the public that there will be a temporary traffic disruption along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, 33.5 Mark, Southbound, in the vicinity of Macaulay Flyover. This is to facilitate works, which will be conducted from Wednesday (6th December 2023) to Saturday 30th December 2023.
The Ministry notes that work will be undertaken daily, however, during the hours of 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM, traffic would be limited to single-lane within the work zone. The public is advised that the shoulder lane within the section of the work zone will remain closed for the duration of the project.
