Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, is appealing to citizens to get the Influenza Vaccine to prevent possible hospitalisation or even death during the Flu season - which runs from October to May. He also recently stated that at least ten (10) patients are currently being treated for Swine Flu (H1N1) in T&T.
Officials from the Health Ministry confirmed that three (3) persons have died from Swine Flu in T&T. According to Guardian Media, Nicole Seecharan (47) from Tabaquite died from Swine Flu in December, but her family members were not told of her true cause of death until days later. See statements below by Nicole’s sister, Camilla, during an interview with Guardian Media and continue reading for more information. They never told us that because even when Nicole died there that morning and they allowed us to go to visit and I hold her and hug her and cried. They didn’t tell me don’t go near her. Don’t touch the patient. They did not do that.
Director of Women's Health at the Ministry, Dr. Adesh Sirjusingh, is down-playing any cause for public alarm and is reminding citizens that we are in the Flu season.
Influenza Vaccines have been brought in by the Health Ministry and is currently accessible to the public at any Health Center or Hospital.

Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos (54), announced today that he and wife, MacKenzie, will be divorcing after a long “trial separation.” They have been married for the past 25 years and it looks like he will have to share half of his reported US $137 Billion fortune.
According to TMZ, there are no signs that a Prenup is in place - they live in Washington which means assets are split 50/50 in divorces, unless there is a Prenup. Jeff is the richest man in the World and is reportedly US $40 Billion ahead of the second richest man, Bill Gates. See Jeff and MacKenzie’s joint statement below and continue reading for more information.
Jeff and MacKenzie got married in 1993, just 6 months after they met. They both quit their Wall Street jobs and moved to Seattle where Jeff opened an Online Bookstore, which later became Amazon. Just like Steve Jobs, Jeff started the Bookstore operation in his Garage.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising citizens in Central and South West Trinidad that they will experience a lack of water supply due to a cutback in production at the Point Lisas Desalination Plant. This Plant is currently operating at only 25% of its capacity.
The Point Lisas Desalination Plant is used to supply the Point Lisas Industrial Estate, as well as augment the supply to areas in Central and South West Trinidad. WASA says that this disruption in water supply will therefore significantly impact its water distribution capacity to supply its customers. See a list of affected areas below. Caroni
Customers are asked to manage their water use efficiently, as it may take 24 to 36 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas, after the Plant returns to full operation.
WASA says a limited truck-borne water service will be available with priority given to special homes, as well as Health Care and Government Institutions. [Source: CNC3]

Almost three (3) weeks later, the brother of Sheron Sukhdeo, Sheldon, has still not been released after being kidnapped by armed men on 16th December 2018.
Since his kidnapping, rumors have circulated on Social Media that he has been killed - although there is no evidence to support this.
A $2 Million Ransom has since been made by his Kidnappers, but Sheldon himself has not been heard from since he spoke briefly to a male relative on 19th December 2018. During that phone call, the relative was able to verify it was indeed Sheldon, by asking him a series of personal questions.
Investigations are continuing by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad and TTPS. Stay tuned for updates. |
