Eyewitness reports indicate that around 7am this morning, Thursday 19th December 2019, a man driving a WASA van suddenly sped up at a red light onto incoming traffic and collided with an Almera vehicle. The van continued to accelerate, causing the Almera to crash into other vehicles.
In the end, a total of six (6) vehicles were damaged. It appears the driver of the WASA van suffered a seizure just prior to the crash, causing his foot to push down hard on the accelerator. When the van eventually came to a stop, the engine was still revving and when passers-by opened the van door, the man was shaking uncontrollably. WASA has confirmed one of its drivers was involved in the incident but has not yet revealed his identity, noting the man has previously suffered medical issues and that they will issue a statement later. The man was taken to Hospital. Watch the video below, which was taken moments after the crash. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
