Following the massacre in Texas, a gunman wearing body armor opened fire in a popular nightlife district in Ohio, killing 9 and injuring 27 others, before he was killed by Police. This is the second mass shooting in the U.S within 13 hours.
Within the last week, there have been mass shootings at a Northern California Garlic Festival and at a neighborhood Walmart in Mississippi. Including this weekend’s double massacre in Texas and Ohio, all four (4) mass shootings have left at least 34 people dead and more than 50 wounded. This deadly trend surely has the FBI and other security agencies on high alert. The latest mass shooting occurred early Sunday morning (4th August 2019) around 1am on the streets of downtown Dayton's Oregon District in Ohio. The area is home to many Bars, Restaurants and Theaters. The shooter has been identified as Connor Betts (24) of Bellbrook, Ohio. The shooting happened as the suspect was making his way toward a Bar called ‘Ned Peppers.’
Dayton Police said the shooter used a .223 caliber, assault-style weapon with high capacity magazines. Police have not been able to determine if the shooting was a hate crime.
