Two (2) would-be bandits tried their luck on Saturday night (26th March 2022), attempting to rob a couple in the car park of a bar in Princes Town. Unfortunately for the men, the couple were both Police Officers and one of the suspects paid the ultimate price. The attempted robbery took place at 10:35pm at the junction of Cemetery Street and Lothian’s Road, Princes Town. According to reports, the couple were in the parking lot of the ‘Stop and Go Bar’ when the two (2) men walked up to them. “Give me everything you have,” one of the suspects allegedly said, as he pointed a gun towards the couple. The Police Constable pulled his service weapon and fired four (4) shots at the gunman, who was struck and fell to the ground, dead. The second suspect immediately fled the scene. The identity of the dead suspect is not known at this time. He was described as being of African descent, slim built, dark brown complexion, approximately five (5) feet, eight (8) inches tall, wearing a black short sleeve jersey, grey three-quarter pants, and black shoes.
