Two (2) men from Diego Martin appeared before the Chaguanas First Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (11th May 2021) to answer to the charge of robbery with violence.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Officers of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and Western Division conducted an in-depth investigation which led to the arrest of Ishmael Bradshaw, 19, of Jasper Avenue, Diego Martin, and Shawn Adams, 29, of Mahogany Trace, North Coast Road, Diego Martin. On 3rd May 2021, Officers received a report that a 30-year-old woman employed with the National Lotteries Control Board (NLCB), as a Lotto Booth Operator, was conducting sales at her place of employment, located at the Corner of Alister Street and Montrose Main Road, Chaguanas, when she was accosted by two (2) persons, one of whom pointed a firearm at her and announced a robbery. The woman was ordered to open her door leading into the “Play Whe” operator’s room. However, as she proceeded to comply, the men then kicked in the door, entered and dealt her a cuff to her face. Both men then emptied the cash drawer of an estimated $5,000 which represented the day’s sale. The men then relieved the woman of her black Samsung Galaxy A71 cell phone valued at $2,800 and escaped.
