Two (2) families, including two (2) children, are still in shock but thankful to be alive after a Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) bus crashed into their home along the Caparo Valley Road yesterday morning (Monday 27th September 2021). The home, owned by Mr. Roston Kelly, has two (2) rental apartments on the ground floor. He rushed home after receiving a frantic phone call from his wife, who was at home at the time of the crash. In an interview with Bavita Gopaulchan from Guardian Media yesterday, Kelly said, “I now left one minute...my wife call me, she start to cry, she say a bus run into the house the guy say something about he get a bad drive...normal thing they say that but we don’t know.” While he is grateful that no one was injured, he is hoping that the PTSC moves swiftly to have his home repaired. Kelly added, “First thing I wanted to know when meh wife call, if any of the renters get damage, if everybody safe, if the bus driver safe, from there we could move on. Now I hope we could get something going. We want to get the place fix. Nobody didn’t get damage so let we work on the future now on this.” Meanwhile, Kelly’s tenant, who is renting an apartment downstairs, said his wife and two (2) children were also at home at the time of the crash. He said he was left stunned by the incident. The PTSC informed Guardian Media yesterday that they were aware of the accident. They noted there were no serious injuries and said the accident is currently being investigated by Police and they have also launched an internal investigation into the incident.
