In a Media Release on Sunday afternoon (28th June 2020), the Ministry of Health announced that the remaining T&T Nationals onboard the Enchantment of the Seas Cruise Ship will soon be moved into state quarantine on land. These persons will be allowed to disembark on Tuesday 30th June 2020. The decision was made after a recent virtual meeting between the Ministry of Health, Ministry of National Security, Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago and representatives of the management of the Enchantment of the Seas. There have been three (3) recent COVID-19 positive cases from the Cruise Ship as well as another six (6) cases about two (2) weeks ago. All nine (9) persons are currently being treated at the Caura Hospital. The T&T Nationals will be held in quarantine, for a short period of time, where another round of PCR tests will be conducted during this week. Upon receipt and review of these results by the Ministry of Health, a determination will be made as to when they can be safely reunited with their families.
