A wet week is expected across T&T as two (2) Tropical Waves approach the islands along with the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and a Surface Trough.
Tropical Wave 35 is located in the Central Atlantic and is forecast to affect T&T on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th August 2019. Moderate to strong convection is expected as conditions will be favorable for development. Severe weather and locally heavy rainfall are likely.
Following the passage of Tropical Wave 35, the ITCZ as well as a Surface Trough are forecast to move across T&T, which will keep showers and isolated Thunderstorms in the forecast, affecting mainly Trinidad.
Keeping with the rainfall trend this week, Tropical Wave 36 (located in the Eastern Atlantic) is forecast to affect T&T on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August 2019, bringing locally heavy rainfall.
