The Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection in Tobago announced on Friday (29th April 2022) that ninety-five (95) new COVID-19 cases were reported in the last twenty-four (24) hours on the island. One (1) more death was also recorded — a fully vaccinated person. Total deaths now stand at 265.
Active cases have reached 451. Twelve (12) persons are currently hospitalized — three (3) fully vaccinated and nine (9) unvaccinated. There have been 7,941 total recoveries to date. The Division advises persons with flu-like symptoms should stay at home and call the COVID-19 Hotline, toll free at 800 HEAL (800-4325). Cases are also increasing in Trinidad, with 802 new cases reported on Thursday (28th April 2022) — the highest since 11th February 2022 (963) — representing a 47.7% increase in reported cases from the day before.
