The Ministry of Health has announced on Saturday afternoon (28th March 2020) that Trinidad and Tobago has recorded its third death as a result of COVID-19. There are also now a total of 76 positive cases, two (2) more than what was announced this morning. This means there have been a total of ten (10) new cases during the past 24 hours. One (1) person has been discharged so far. The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) has tested a total of 500 samples to date. The Ministry notes that of the 76 positive cases, 49 of these came from the group of T&T Nationals who recently returned from a cruise. T&T will be locked down for all non-essential businesses from Midnight on Sunday 29th March 2020 until 15th April 2020 in an attempt to slow the rapidly growing number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
