Ten (10) persons were arrested in Marabella on Friday afternoon (25th June 2021) for gathering and consuming alcohol in a public place in breach of the COVID-19 Public Health Regulations.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Officers of the Marabella Police Station and Southern Division Task Force, conducted an exercise between 2pm and 6pm on Friday, during which they observed a group of persons gathered and consuming alcohol. The persons, ages thirty (30) to forty-six (46) from the Marabella, San Fernando and Claxton Bay areas, were arrested and charged with gathering in excess of five (5) persons in public and consuming alcohol in a public place. They appeared before a Justice of the Peace (JP) on Saturday (26th June 2021). The exercise was co-ordinated by Insp. Ramlogan and supervised by Sgt. Maraj and Sgt. Dinno. We are a small operation.
