A teenager has appeared before the Juvenile Court in Fyzabad, charged with the murder of Tyrell Karim, which occurred on 6th April, 2024. The minor was also charged with possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, when he appeared before Justice Jack on Thursday (18th April, 2024).
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Karim, aka ‘Koke,’ 44, of Morne Diablo, was shot and killed along the roadway at Lammy Trace, on 6th April, 2024. A male suspect was arrested in connection with the matter by Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region III, with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies on 12th April, 2024. Investigations were supervised by Supt. Dhilpaul, ASP Persad, Insp. Maharaj and Sgt. Bridgemohan, all of HBI Region III. The teenager was charged with the offences by PC Mathura, also of HBI Region III, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Roger Gaspard SC, on Wednesday (17th April, 2024).
