Rachael Sukhdeo and her friends were about to leave Hanggers Extreme Restaurant & Bar in Chaguanas around 3am on Sunday 12th May 2019, when two (2) cars pulled up and fired shots at them.
Rachael and her friends were already seated in their cars when the shooting incident took place and they all managed to escape unhurt. Shortly after, an abandoned Nissan Tiida was found by Central Division Police Officers near the Endeavour Overpass - believed to be one of the vehicles used by the gunmen.
Rachael’s deceased husband, Sheron Sukhdeo, was gunned down while visiting his Mother-In-Law on Caroni Savannah Road, Chaguanas in March 2018. Several close relatives and friends of the Sukhdeo family have since been killed, including Sheron’s brother, Sheldon and Rachael’s brother, Phillip Basant.
Police do not yet have a motive for the attemtped hit on Rachael early this morning, but they are pursuing several leads as investigations continue. They are asking members of the public to come forward with any information they may have on the shooting. [Source: Newsday] We are a small operation.
