A total of forty-nine (49) people were killed in shootings at two (2) Mosques in the southern New Zealand City of Christchurch on Friday (15th March 2019) in an apparent Terrorist Attack. New Zealand’s Prime Minister called it one of the darkest days in the country’s history.
Brenton Tarrant, a 28-year-old Australian citizen has been charged with the murders. A Manifesto posted on his Facebook Page around the time of the attacks claimed responsibility, expressing white-supremacist views. Meanwhile, the Office of the Prime Minister of T&T has condemned the Terror Attacks, releasing the following statement below: It is with shock and horror that we the people of Trinidad and Tobago received the sad news of the unspeakable tragedy that has been unleashed on the Muslim community and the entire nation of our sister Commonwealth nation, New Zealand.
