UPDATE: In addition to many other countries, the Trinidad & Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has also banned Boeing 737 Max 8 and 9 Planes from entering local Airspace.
President Trump on Wednesday (13th March 2019), ordered the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ground all Boeing 737 Max Planes with immediate effect. This Order comes days after the tragic Ethiopian Airlines crash that killed all 157 passengers onboard.
According to the FAA, all Planes in the air at the time of the Order were allowed to reach their destinations but prohibited from taking off again.
The cause of the Ethiopian Airlines crash has not yet been determined, but the incident is now the second time in five (5) months that a Boeing 737 Max 8 Plane has crashed within minutes of takeoff.
T&T’s Acting Prime Minister, Colm Imbert, chimed in on the Order via Twitter, noting that the Miami to Port-of-Spain Route has also been suspended until American Airlines can find other Planes.
