Fraud Squad Officers charged a 45-year-old postal worker today (Thursday 30th November 2023) with larceny servant in the sum of $59,008.25.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Alice Baptiste, a Postal Office Leader, attached to the Arima Post Shop, was granted bail by Justice of the Peace (JP) Young in the sum $150,000, and is scheduled to appear at the Arima Magistrates’ Court on 27th December:2023. The charges stem from a report where a sum of cash representing sales, was allegedly collected by a Postal Office Leader, but was never credited into the company’s account. The matter was reported to the Fraud Squad and an investigation was launched by Sgt. (Ag.) Edwards, under the supervision of Insp. Smith, and with the assistance of Snr. Superintendent Groome and Cpl. Edwards. Upon conclusion of the investigation, the decision was made to charge Baptiste for the offence of larceny servant. We are a small operation.
