Police are investigating an incident which occurred on Thursday (28th October 2021) in El Socorro involving a couple which resulted in a woman sustaining injuries.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) at 11am on Thursday, a woman of El Socorro reported to Police that a man known to her, who was driving a white Nissan B-15 motor vehicle, stopped alongside her following which an argument ensued. During the argument, Police were told, the exchange escalated and, as a result, the man allegedly held onto her hand while driving causing her to be dragged a few feet alongside his vehicle. The man reportedly released her hand a short distance away causing the injured woman to lay on the roadway until she was assisted by good samaritans. Officers of the Emergency Response Patrol, North-Eastern Division, later arrived on the scene and escorted the woman to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt. Hope, where she is currently being treated for her injuries. San Juan Police are continuing investigations into the incident. We are a small operation.
