A pedestrian is currently hospitalized with serious injuries after he was struck by a PTSC bus in San Fernando this morning (Tuesday 2nd April, 2024).
According to eyewitness reports, the man was standing on the pavement under the walkover along Lady Hailes Avenue, around 9:30 AM, when a PTSC Deluxe Coach approached. The man then stepped off the pavement and was subsequently struck by the incoming bus. The left side of the vehicle’s windscreen was shattered. The bus stopped a short distance away and the passengers disembarked.
The pedestrian was conscious while lying on the roadway and was able to give his father’s number to persons who were rendering aid. One person said he also managed to say he was from the Chaguanas area.
He is said to have remained on the roadway for approximately forty (40) minutes while awaiting the arrival of the Ambulance.
Investigations are continuing by Officers of the San Fernando Police Station.
