Senior Paediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist at the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA), Dr. Joanne Paul, revealed during the Ministry of Health’s virtual Press Conference on Wednesday (23rd February 2022) that a one-month old baby is currently being treated for COVID-19 at Hospital. The baby is among five (5) children in total. Dr. Paul said the virus is now affecting two (2) groups of children — babies and those with chronic diseases. The second group includes asymptomatic children who Dr. Paul describes as having “incidental COVID-19.” It was noted during the virtual Press Conference that a total of 342 children have been admitted to the parallel healthcare system to be treated for COVID-19 since the start of the Pandemic.
