Missing Divers: Key Points From Today’s Press Conf. With Minister Young

Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, held a Press Conference at 10am this morning (Monday 28th March 2022) to update the public on the latest developments regarding the recovery efforts for the four (4) missing divers.

• Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, stated that at this time, despite all the operations, the bodies of the divers have not been recovered.
• Minister Young displayed a diagram and stated that the devices sent into the pipeline to locate the missing divers were obstructed by diving equipment which could not be by-passed.
• Minister Young announced that an independent investigation will take place into this tragedy, which would include experts from BP and Shell.
• Minister Young, when answering a question regarding rescue divers being barred from searching for the men, stated that a judgement call was made by experts there at the time, including the Coast Guard who did risk assessments and determined that it was too dangerous.
