UPDATE: The MET Office has extended its Adverse Weather Alert by 24 hours, starting instead from 12pm on Wednesday 31st October 2018.
The Meteorological Office of Trinidad & Tobago is advising citizens that an Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) will be in effect from 12pm on Thursday 1st November until 6pm on Friday 2nd November 2018. However, showers and Thunderstorms may begin from Wednesday 31st October 2018.
There is a 70% chance of heavy showers or Thunderstorms during this period, which may lead to Street/Flash Flooding as well as Landslides/Landslips in areas so prone. Gusty winds can also be experienced in the vicinity of heavy downpours. This activity is due to the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). Rainfall accumulations of 35 - 50mm can be expected, with higher amounts in isolated areas. Due to the volatility of the weather features involved, the public is advised to monitor conditions.
