The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued an Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) for a total of thirty (30) hours. The Alert begins at 12pm today (Tuesday 26th April 2022) and will remain in effect until 6pm tomorrow (Wednesday 27th April 2022).
According to the Met Office, instability associated with a low level trough and favourable atmospheric conditions can result in a high (70%) chance of heavy showers/Thunderstorms. These conditions are expected to persist intermittently over the period, with a few settled periods accompanied by light rain. Heavy downpours can lead to the threat of isolated Flash Flooding events that may cause temporary traffic disruptions. Gusty winds may be experienced in the vicinity of heavy downpours. Citizens are advised to be on the alert for cloud-to-ground lightning activity. Persons should not venture into flood waters. Monitor weather conditions and updates from official sources.
