In a Media Release on Monday afternoon (27th September 2021), Kiss Baking Company Limited announced an increase in its bread prices due to “unprecedented increases in our input costs.” Kiss notes that the unfortunate increase in prices do not affect their core bread products such as sandwich loaves, butter bread and hops. Kiss said in its Media Release, which was issued by General Manager, Rene deGannes, “Kiss Baking Company Limited recognizes that our country is facing enormous economic challenges. Unfortunately, we are facing unprecedented increases in our input costs. Raw material prices have escalated by as much as 30% in some instances. We have also seen increases in shipping costs as a result of continued strains placed on supply chains throughout the world due to COVID-19 lockdowns.” The company further added, “We have performed an in-depth examination of our internal processes in order to implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service, and to minimize the impact of rising costs on our customers. While we have been able to maintain the prices of our core bread products such as sandwich loaves, butter bread and hops, unfortunately we are forced to increase the price on a few others.” Below are the products for which prices have been increased:
