Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, is disputing recent rumors that his Ministry is investing $500 Million in the Cryptocurrency known as Bitcoin. The Minister shared his thoughts on the controversy today via his Twitter account.
What exactly is Bitcoin? It is defined as follows: A type of digital currency in which a record of transactions is maintained and new units of currency are generated by the computational solution of mathematical problems, and which operates independently of a Central Bank.
As of 9th February 2019, 1 Bitcoin is valued at TT $24,461.46.
