The Ministry of Health held a virtual Press Conference at 11am this morning (Monday 14th June 2021) to update the public on the latest developments with COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago. Below are the key points discussed today, courtesy of TTT Live Online: - Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Roshan Parasram, shared a breakdown of the occupancy of the parallel healthcare system. With regards to Hospitalized cases of COVID-19, the breakdown is as follows:

- Dr. Parasram also stated that 158,515 persons have received their first vaccination dose with 83,554 persons receiving AstraZeneca and 74,961 persons receiving Sinopharm. The CMO added that the total number of fully vaccinated persons stands at 11,649. - Medical Chief of Staff at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Dr. Joanne Paul, discussed tips on COVID-19 in children. Dr. Paul stated that parents/guardians should be on the lookout for certain warning signs that a child may be experiencing a severe case of the virus. The Doctor indicated that children do not commonly experience respiratory issues from severe COVID-19 like adults do, however, they are more likely to experience diarrhoea, vomiting, high pulse rate, lethargy, confusion and drowsiness.
