The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued a Hazardous Seas Alert (Yellow Level) from 2pm this afternoon (Friday 29th April 2022) until 12pm on Sunday (1st May 2022).
The Met Office says Northerly high energy swells are expected to initially impact near-shore areas of Northern Tobago and gradually encroach on the Northern and Western coastal areas of Trinidad today. These swells can result in battering waves at shallower coastal regions and can be exacerbated during high tides. All marine interests should carefully monitor near-shore/coastal sea conditions and exercise caution along affected areas. Partly cloudy and hazy conditions are expected today with a few showers at times. Tonight will be fair but hazy apart from brisk showers. There is a moderate concentration of Saharan dust in the atmosphere. Persons are advised to take the necessary precautions. We are a small operation.
